JDC And DDE-KENCOA Signs a Business Agreement for Urban Air Mobility Industry Development
Jeju Free International City Development Center (Chairman Yang Young-chul, JDC) signed a "business agreement for cooperation in drone and UAM industrial development" on December 2nd with Data Design Engineering (CEO Kim Jae-bok, DDE) and Kencore Airspace (CEO Lee Min-kyu, KENCOA).
On this day, the three JDC-DDE-KENCOA agreed to cooperate and support the Jeju UAM demonstration project in 2023 to develop the Urban Air Transportation (UAM) industry, which is a promising future mobility industry, and to create related ecosystems and secure leadership.
In September, JDC successfully held Jeju UAM integrated demonstration events such as demonstrations of low-altitude flights (PAV) with Jeju Island and KENCOA, confirming the possibility of future mobility in Jeju.
Next year, it plans to carry out a UAM demonstration project linked to AI technology with DDE, a data analysis and AI service company that has entered Luxembourg.

제주국제자유도시개발센터(이사장 양영철, JDC)는 데이터디자인엔지니어링(대표 김재복, DDE) 및 켄코아에어로스페이스(대표 이민규, KENCOA)와 함께 2일 ‘드론 및 UAM 산업발전 협력을 위한 업무협약’을 체결했다.
이날 JDC-DDE-KENCOA 3자는 유망한 미래 모빌리티 산업인 도심항공교통(UAM) 산업 발전을 위해 23년도 제주 UAM 실증사업을 협력·지원하고 관련 생태계 조성과 주도권 확보를 위해 본격 나선다는 방침이다.
JDC는 지난 9월 제주도, KENCOA와 함께 PAV(Personal Air Vehicle) 저고도 비행 시연 등 제주 UAM 통합 실증행사를 성공적으로 개최하며 제주에서 미래 모빌리티의 가능성을 확인한 바 있다.
내년에는 룩셈부르크에 진출한 데이터 분석 및 AI 서비스 기업인 DDE와 함께 AI 기술과 연계한 UAM 실증사업을 추진한다는 계획이다.
양영철 JDC 이사장은 “글로벌 최고 수준의 AI 기술을 보유한 DDE는 UAM 상용화에 중요한 요소인 ‘안전’과 ‘자율비행’ 기술에 필수적인 파트너”라며 “UAM 선도기업인 KENCOA와 함께 적극적으로 협력해 산업 기반을 조기에 마련할 수 있도록 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 밝혔다.
