Spacecraft stabilisation is one of the most critical operational tasks required to ensure the success of space missions, such as boom deployment or debris collection. The platform that handles this task is called the Attitude Determination and Control System (ADCS), a complex combination of emerging technologies supported by AI to maintain robustness in long-term operations.
One of the key features of DDE's Space Technology is to embed an advanced Active Heave Compensation (AHC) based AI model into a Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller. Massive data from multiple directions is collected and utilised in real time by AI models, thanks to an emerging sensor, known as the Motion Reference Unit (MRU).
