<<Luxembourg AI Excellence Awards Celebrate Adoption of AI Technologies>>

On Tuesday 17 June 2025, the first Luxembourg AI Excellence Awards ceremony took place as part of the NEXUS Luxembourg 2025 conference at Luxexpo The Box in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.
The event, attended by Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister for Media and Connectivity, Elisabeth Margue, attracted over 250 attendees and saw prizes awarded to five Luxembourg-based businesses for their breakthroughs and application of artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.
According to the organisers, the aim of the competition was to โcelebrate excellence in artificial intelligence in Luxembourgโ and to โhonour bold innovative projects, significant technological breakthroughs and concrete applications of AI for the benefit of the economy, society or the environmentโ. In total, 55 projects were submitted for consideration by a jury which consisted of experts from the public and private sectors.
Minister Margue addressed the audience and spoke of the Luxembourg governmentโs recently announced strategy on AI. She said: โIt is not always about infrastructure but also about the landscape and โฆ the regulatory landscape. We need to make sure and this is our goal also as a government, that it is easy for businesses to follow the rules and we need to make sure that we strike the right balance between regulation on the one hand and innovation on the other hand.โ
The minister then noted the effect of AI on industry and everyday life in Luxembourg. She remarked: โPeople compare the impact of AI to the impact of electricity or internet [back] in the day. Any grocery store, any bank or pharmacist benefited at the time from such evolutions and so will they eventually from AI.โ She added: โIt will not happen all at once but it will happen slowly and steadily and it will be transforming for all kinds of sectors. This is why the awards โฆ today are so important.โ
Before the winners were announced, Co-founder of the Hub Institute and expert in Digital Transformation, Emmanuel Vivier, spoke to the audience about the applications made to the competition. He said: โI think we were not surprised but amazed by the quality and the diversity of all the applicants. From industry to sustainability, from creativity to work efficiency, I think it really shows the quality and richness of what is happening in Luxembourg.โ
The winners in each category were then invited on to the stage and presented with their award by Minister Margue and Vice-President at FEDIL, Jean-Louis Schlitz.
