국방부, 예선 통과팀에게 20억원 실증 시험 예산 지급해 성능 고도화
본선 대회, 9월 중 개최 예정
(서울=뉴스1) 김예원 기자 = 국방부는 10일부터 12일까지 3일간 경기 포천시 승진훈련장에서 2026 대한민국 드론 공방전 예선 대회를 열고 총 8개 팀을 최종 선발했다.
본선 진출이 확정된 팀은 드론 부문에선 △프리뉴 △파블로항공·심투리얼 △디브레인 △아쎄따·모빌리티원·에이럭스이며 대 드론 부문에선 △비에이솔루션즈·루프·데이터디자인엔지니어링 △담스테크·유비파이·알에프코어 △로보블럭시스템·아이원랩·재능대학교 △위우너스·동인광학·삼정솔루션 4곳이다.
이들은 지난 4월 서면 평가를 통과 후 국방부로부터 총 20여억 원의 실증시험 지원 예산을 받아 드론의 재밍 회피, 자율비행 고도화 등을 추진한 상태로 예선 대회에 참가했다. 이들 전력은 육군 36사단, 해군특수전전단, 해병대사령부 등으로 구성된 군 합동 대항군과 교전하는 식으로 실력을 검증했다. 본선 진출팀은 약 3개월간의 기술 보완을 거쳐 오는 9월 둘째 주 개최 예정인 본선 대회에 참가한다.
대회 둘째 날인 11일 오후엔 이두희 국방부 차관 주관으로 다수 민간 업체와 군이 드론·대 드론 기술을 시연하기도 했다.
현장엔 대한항공 장기체공 드론, 파블로항공 주간 연막 군집드론쇼, 디메이커스 체공형 요격 드론, 유에이엠테크 직충돌 드론, 육군 정보학교 수류탄·연막·군집 드론, 해군특수전전단 광섬유 FPV 드론들이 참여했다.
대 드론 체계로는 한화시스템 단거리 AESA 레이다, 천광, 전투차량 탑재 기동형 레이저포, 성진테크윈 AI 기반 자율형 사격체계가 함께했다.
이 차관은 "20여억 원의 실증 지원 예산이 민간 기업의 기술을 한층 더 발전시키는 마중물 역할을 했다"라며 "본선 무대는 대한민국 첨단 드론 기술의 현주소를 확인하고 미래 강군 육성을 앞당기는 계기가 될 것"이라고 말했다.

SEOUL, South Korea — The Ministry of National Defense (MND) announced that it held the preliminary round of the 2026 Republic of Korea Drone Warfare Competition from June 10 to 12 at the Seungjin Training Ground in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, selecting a total of eight teams for the final stage.
The teams advancing to the finals in the drone category are:
- Preneu
- Pablo Air & Simturiol
- D-Brain
- Asseta, Mobility One & A-LUX
In the counter-drone category, the finalists are:
- BA Solutions, LOOP & Data Design Engineering
- DAMS Tech, Ubify & RFCore
- RoboBlock System, I-One Lab & Jaeneung University
- WeOwners, Dongin Optical & Samjung Solution
After passing a document-based evaluation in April, these teams received a combined demonstration-testing budget of approximately KRW 2 billion from the Ministry of National Defense. The funding enabled further development of capabilities such as anti-jamming technologies, enhanced autonomous flight functions, and other operational improvements.
During the preliminary competition, participating systems were evaluated through simulated engagements against a joint military opposing force composed of units from the Army's 36th Infantry Division, the Republic of Korea Navy Special Warfare Flotilla, and the Marine Corps Headquarters.
The finalists will spend the next three months refining their technologies before competing in the final round, scheduled for the second week of September.
On the afternoon of June 11, Vice Minister of National Defense Lee Du-hee presided over a live demonstration featuring a range of drone and counter-drone technologies developed by private-sector companies in cooperation with the military.
The exhibition featured:
- A long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) from Korean Air
- A daytime smoke-screen swarm drone demonstration by Pablo Air
- A loitering interceptor drone from D-Makers
- A direct-impact drone developed by UAM Tech
- Grenade-dropping, smoke-deployment, and swarm drones from the Army Intelligence School
- Fiber-optic FPV drones operated by the Navy Special Warfare Flotilla
Counter-drone systems on display included:
- A short-range AESA radar developed by Hanwha Systems
- The Cheongwang counter-UAS system
- A vehicle-mounted mobile laser weapon platform
- An AI-enabled autonomous firing system developed by Sungjin Techwin
Vice Minister Lee stated:
“The approximately KRW 2 billion in demonstration-testing support has served as a catalyst for advancing private-sector drone technologies. The final competition will provide an opportunity to assess the current state of Korea’s cutting-edge drone capabilities and accelerate the development of a future-ready military force.”
